IMPACT Series | Session 6
By Todd Durkin, MA, CSCS
Today, I want to share something I did yesterday with my FQ10 team on the “LEADERSHIP” side. And I KNOW it can really help you. As a matter of fact, many of my teammates came up after the meeting and thanked me for the “personal growth.” I love that!!
As many of you know, I have been teaching a 10-session IMPACT Growth series for my team at Fitness Quest 10 since January. I typically teach on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of the month and today I delivered Session #6. My FOCUS was on self-development and I facilitated 2 exercises:
#1 “Two-Sides” of the Page
#2 “10 Forms of Wealth”
Exercise #1 is an exercise in contrasts that stems from Seth Godin (and thank you Tim Rhode for re-sharing the other day). I actually took MASSIVE ACTION on it personally and with my team. First, on one side of a sheet of paper, I instructed all in attendance to write down the challenges in their life and business and things that were not going well.
Second, on the reverse side of the page I instructed them to write down ALL the great things they were grateful for in their Life and Business and ALL the things that were going really well.
You can watch & listen to the interaction in the video below…
Exercise #2 is the “10 Forms of Wealth” and the “1 in 30.” I instructed all to evaluate their LIVES in the 10 “areas of wealth” Physical, MINDSET, Financial, LOVE, Family, Professional, Circle of Genius/Social, Adventure, IMPACT/Legacy and Spiritual/Inner Self. Scoring is on a Scale of 1 to 10. After completion the next step is to set 1 goal (for the month) for each form of Wealth that you can commit to in order to improve that area of wealth in your life (I have enclosed the PDF above in case you want to do the exercise yourself also!).
While many of you have heard of this exercise and perhaps even occasionally do it, I’m meticulous about doing mine every 30-days. So I shared some insight and guided/facilitated this exercise. I think you will enjoy the discussion around the topics as much as the actual exercise itself.
We had some great sharing, feedback and did a Q&A. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was almost 45-minutes.
Enjoy the video below….I think you will enjoy!!
